Very good information about an invasive species, that most people don't realize is an invasive species. Always keep learning! Protect our landscapes, forests and waterways!Can You Find Earthworms in Algonquin Park? — Earthworms are not native to Algonquin Park and in fact there are no native earthworms in Ontario. The good news is if you dig in Algonquin Park’s soil you will have a hard time finding worms, but not everywhere. Worms are becoming increasingly common in Algonquin Park, brought into the Park through their use as bait for fishing and through the transport of soil. Help stop the spread of worms that have been shown to damage native soil communities, hardwood forests, wildflowers, plus increase soil compaction and erosion. Welcome to the Logging Museum and Antique Snowmobile Display at Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve !This venue is open daily 8:30 am to 4:30 pm to the public, as long as there are no events happening.It is a great place to come for shelter when its raining, get out of the sun for a bit and just wander through looking at the displays. Many folks use the venue for really cool photos opportunities and to learn about the history of Haliburton Forest and the surrounding area.This venue also hosts weddings, dinners, summer camps, concerts, blues festivals!
