Join us on Sunday, June 15th, for a Father’s Day Join us on Sunday, June 15th, for a Father’s Day celebration like no other at Haliburton Forest. Start the morning with a family-friendly fishing derby on Dutton and Blue Lake, where anglers can compete for prizes based on the length of their Brook or Rainbow Trout catches. The event is free to enter, with canoe rentals available for a minimum $5 donation, and all proceeds supporting the Haliburton Forest Fishing Society. Following the derby, head over to @boshkungsmokehouse at Base Camp for an afternoon of food, music, and celebration. The award ceremony will kick off with a delicious BBQ pig roast by Boshkung Smokehouse and a fish fry by @thehookhaliburton (proceeds from the BBQ will benefit the Haliburton Forest Fishing Society, while funds from the fish fry will support the HHOA Fish Hatchery). Enjoy live music, a licensed bar, and great company as we wrap up a perfect day in the great outdoors, celebrating fathers while supporting local conservation efforts. Huge shout out to Jacques, from @oakhammockmarsh f Huge shout out to Jacques, from @oakhammockmarsh for touring @tegsadventure @haliburton_forest GM around their newly renovated and re-opened Discovery Centre as well as the marsh and the surounding natural prairie land itself!  If you are ever in the Winnipeg area, be sure to check out this centre and the 32 square kilometre wetland, with over 30 kms of trails,  which also happens to be the headquarters of @ducksunlimitedcanada They host weddings, events, school groups, incredible and fun events, and are open to the public! There is a yummy cafe that serves local fare, plenty of interactive displays to keep the young ones entertained for hours, canoe rentals, and daily programming from guided bird hikes, to bug indentification.
