FOREST PRODUCTS DIVISON

Haliburton Forest offers more than just incredible wilderness experiences: we also have a Forest Products division that sustainably manages our 100,000 acre property, operates two sawmills and manufacturers log homes, paddles, furniture, and household goods like burl bowls. In addition to these operations, we offer woodlot stewardship services, so that other landowners can benefit from our decades of forest management experience. All of these operations and related services are described below!

Stewardship Services is our landowner forestry services program. If you own a woodlot or forested property and want help managing it, we want to help you achieve your objectives as a landowner! We offer a variety of services including MFTIP/CLTIP plans and enrollment, harvest preparation and management, timber sales and marketing, forest health/diversity improvements, infrastructure building, and landowner training. Our primary region of focus is central Ontario. For more information, please contact Ernie Demuth, Stewardship Forester, by email (edemuth@haliburtonforest.com) or phone (705-457-0719).

The  Sawmill is the core operation of our Forest Products division. It is a mid-sized hardwood mill producing approximately 20,000 boardfeet per day. Our primary species are Hard maple but we also manufacture lumber from any of the hardwood species that grow in the 100,000 acres that we own and manage at Haliburton Forest. The sawmill is located at 3798 Kennisis Lake Road Haliburton ON K0M 1S0. For lumber sales and other inquiries, please contact Bill Miller, the General Manager, by email (bmiller@haliburtonforest.com) or phone (1-800-631-2198 Option #4).

The “happy neighbour” of the Haliburton Forest Sawmill is our Firewood Processor. Producing approximately 5,000 bush cords per year, this operation manufactures high quality firewood using timber that is sustainably harvested from our property. We are one of the only producers in this region to use a tumbler to clean our firewood. Our focus is on large volumes for commercial clients but retail sales are also possible. For firewood sales inquiries, please contact Jamie Webster by phone (705-455-2684) or email (firewood@haliburtonforest.com).

As a fully-owned subsidiary of Haliburton Forest, Eco-Log Homes can provide everything from a small cabin to a full-sized cottage, customized to meet all of your needs. All of our paddles are handmade at our Paddle Shop by our experts. You can find our paddles for sale at various locations, including Living Woodwork, or you can order a custom paddle online.
