We see loons almost everyday along the canoeing portion of the Canopy Tour route but the other day our guests AND guides were treated by an rare and exciting encounter!This loon got right up close and personal. It even swam under the canoe!This is more typical behaviour of a loon protecting its nest but this one was calm, just swimming around and under the canoe. Didn't seem bothered by their pressence. None the less our guides kept things calm and moved along to not disturb the loon any further. It was all hands on deck Haliburton Forest Wolf Centre for our annual summer cleaning of the windows, weed wack, and other miscellaneous repairs.In an effort to disturb the wolves the least amount possible we get in and out quick which requires a small army.
