Cross-Country Skiing

Cross country skiingCross country skiing is one of the best ways to experience the forest in the winter time. Bring your students here to learn basic cross-country skiing skills and then practice them on our multi-use trails. Haliburton Forest will provide your students with the basic skiing equipment (boots, poles, and skis) and instructions. Students have the opportunity to learn and actively explore about the forest, either on packed trails or wilderness touring. Along the way students may discover animal tracks in the snow, a dog sled or two, or even shelter building areas. Use this mode of transportation to move towards the Wolf Center or for an interpretive hike of the forested area with a focus on wolves. The opportunities are endless!
