The entrance and main office for Haliburton Forest is located at the Base Camp (click here for maps and directions), which is open from 8 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week, with extended hours in the months of July and August.

Rates
Daily Property Use Permit
The daily use permit for Haliburton Forest is $15.00 per day for an adult during spring, summer and fall. This fee increases to $44.00 per day in winter.
Accommodation - Cottages
Spacious 2 and 3-bedroom housekeeping units with 3-piece baths, fully equipped with TV to microwave, most with fireplaces, offering a fitting home base for excursions into the forest.
Rates: $70.00 per night, per person, during spring, summer and fall, $90.00 per night during winter *
Housekeeping unit prices are based on double occupancy.
Accommodation fees for one night include the property use permit for one day.
Log Cabins
Two unique and quaint log cabins are available to small groups. Both offer accommodation to 6 or 10 visitors on a sleeping loft, with a large living area, kitchen and bathrooms downstairs. Both buildings are wood heated. Rates are the same as for the regular housekeeping cabins.
Accommodation fees for one night include the property use permit for one day.
Camping
20 individual, water access sites are available for short term use during the summer. Each site is equipped with an outhouse and picnic table.
The fee for site occupancy is $17.00 per night. Early booking is advised. The camping fee is in addition to the summer property permit fee of $15.00 per adult per day as referred to above.
Mountain Biking
Trail passes: $15.00 per person.
Bike rentals: Full day $35.00 -- Half day (after 1:00 PM) $25.00
Mountain bike rental fleet includes current Specialized 28 speed bikes.
Snowmobiling
Daily Trail Passes: $44.00 per person per day, passenger: $10.00.
Seasonal Trail Passes: $400.00 per person; $450 after Jan. 1st
Family Season Passes: $400.00 for the first machine per family, $200.00 for second and $100.00 for youth with valid license.
Please Note: Children under 18 are to be accompanied by parent/guardian.
HFW campsite lessees: $100.00 per snowmobile or ATV per season.
Snowmobile Rentals
Per day mid-week Monday to Thursday: $215.00 plus trail fee.
Per day weekends Friday to Sunday and on holidays: $255.00 plus trail fee.
Please Note: The required deposit for each snowmobile rental is $2,500.00 (Visa, MasterCard or Cash).
Wolf Centre
The fees to visit the Haliburton Wolf Centre are:
- Adult: $10.00
- Children and Youths under 18: $6.00
- Family: $22.00
Canopy Tour
The fee for the Canopy Tour is $95.00 per adult and $75.00 for youths over 10.
The group rate for a complete tour of 12 participants is $85.00 per person.
The Canopy Tour fee includes the admission to the Wolf Centre. Pre-registration is required.
Dog Sledding Excursions
- 2 hour, introductory tour: $115.00 per person
- Half day, guided dog sledding excursion: $175.00 per person
- Full day, guided tour, including lunch: $300.00 per person
Astronomy
During spring, summer and fall, astronomy sessions are offered every Friday and Saturday evening.
The fee is $20.00 per adult and $15.00 for children and youths.
Canoe Rental
Canoes, in various shapes and sizes, can be rented for $35.00 per day, this is in addition to the property use fee.
The canoe rental includes all of the necessary equipment: paddles, life jackets and mandatory safety equipment (bailing bucket, tow rope, whistle).
